About Meraki Beauty & Barbering

More Than A Salon

Hair is personal. We think your experience should be, too.

MERAKI • To do something with soul, creativity and love; to put something of yourself into your work.

Our Story

Meraki has been more than 30 years in the making.

It started with a little girl in second grade who was very particular about her hair. Before long, that grew into doing my friends’ hair and makeup. When formal events came around, my kitchen became an assembly line of bobby pins, hot tools, and hairspray.

During college, I watched as my friends began finding their paths while I struggled to figure out where I belonged. I went to school and enjoyed some of my classes, but I still had no idea what I truly wanted to do. Then, around age 25, I saw a commercial for Shore Beauty School. The lightbulb went off, I called immediately, and before I knew it, I was enrolled. For the first time, I felt like I had found my direction and purpose, and I was right.

Being the particular person I am, I think I always knew I would create something of my own one day. Right out of cosmetology school, I found my first salon home at Salon Beverle. I spent 11 years there, surrounded by incredible talent, encouragement, and friendship. The experience shaped me both personally and professionally, and I made lifelong friends along the way.

Eventually, I felt ready for something new and began another chapter at Taffeta. A year later, I still felt something pulling me toward a space of my own. Almost overnight, I signed the lease for a small salon suite—and Meraki was born.

The excitement was immediate. I felt that same sense of direction again and knew I was finally building what I had wanted all along. After two years in the suite, Meraki outgrew its first home and moved into the larger salon you know today.

My vision for Meraki is simple: to create a place where everyone feels confident, comfortable, and genuinely welcome. We will continue to evolve year after year, offering exceptional services in a warm, unique environment—with plenty of personality and fun along the way.

Education is also at the heart of what I do. I want every client to understand their hair, what it needs, and why. My goal is to help you achieve beautiful, manageable styles while always keeping the health and integrity of your hair at the foundation.

I hope you find a home with us at Meraki. We’re so proud of what we’ve created—and there are many more exciting things still to come.

Our Mission

At Meraki, we believe the best hair experiences start with understanding.

Understanding your hair. Your history. Your goals. Your lifestyle. And what it will realistically take to get you where you want to be.

We're here to connect with you, collaborate with you, and co-create a plan that makes sense for you and your hair — not just a look that sounds good on paper.

That means honest guidance, thoughtful recommendations and education without pressure. We want you to understand the why behind what we're doing, so you can make confident decisions about your hair both in our chairs and long after you leave them.

Because to us, personalized care isn't just about the finished result. Its about making sure you feel heard, informed and confident in the process.

Our Stylists

At the heart of Meraki and behind the chairs are two cousins, Ashlee & Brianna Galletta. Our stylists are a big part of what makes our space so unique and refreshing.

They each bring their own personality, experience and specialties to the chair, but share a warm, down to earth approach that makes it easy to settle in and be yourself.

Around here, your appointment might look a little less like a traditional salon visit and a little more like catching up with people you actually enjoy being around — good conversation, plenty of laughs, honest advice and of course — great hair.

Because we believe the best appointments aren't just about what you leave looking like. They're about how you feel while you're here, too.

Get to know Ashlee & Brianna, see what they love doing and find the stylist who feels like the right fit for you.
